I am experiencing limited range and intermittent operation when using my Chad remote with the RFR5 RF receiving unit.

The RF range is very dependent on the surrounding environment. Ideally, the RFR-5 should be kept away from AV equipment to avoid unwanted RF noise that can ""confuse"" the RF receiver. Many times, the RF unit is placed directly in the cabinet on the top of an AV receiver, for example. Try moving the RFR-5 away from the AV equipment. One test would be to place the RFR-5 in front of the equipment on a table, using only its built-in blaster for IR. If your range improves, then RF noise from the equipment in the cabinet is likely the problem.
