Integra Mid-Priced Custom Installation A/V Receiver Gets HDMI v.1.3a and Lossless HD Audio Decoding
09/20/07 - Integra introduced the 7 x 100 watt THX Select2 Certified DTR-6.8 A/V receiver to the custom installation market at the 2007 CEDIA Expo here today. Replacing the company's best-selling DTR-6.6, the new unit features HDMI v. 1.3a switching, onboard decoding for lossless and HD audio formats, sophisticated multizone/multisource capabilities, and Integra's signature systems integration and control features.

The DTR-6.8 features three HDMI inputs, and is fully compatible with HDMI v. 1.3a, including 1080p and Deep Colorâ„¢ 36-bit video signals. It is also among the first receivers available to include onboard decoding for Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby Digital HD, and DTS-HD Master Audio, making it fully capable of exploiting the high definition audio potential of the HD-DVD and Blu-Ray disc formats.

The Integra DTR-6.8 includes a comprehensive package of features specifically tailored to the needs of custom installers, including an Ethernet port for integration with Network-based control systems such as AMX Device Discovery and Crestron E-Control. It also includes bi-directional RS-232, RIHD (Remote Interactive over HDMI) system control integration over HDMI, three programmable 12-volt triggers, dual IR inputs, and three unique assignable IR code sets. Lockable customized dealer settings can be independently stored for easy recall, making it simple for installers to maintain complex installations.

In addition to its HDMI connections, the DTR-6.8 also features HD compatible component video outputs and a sophisticated set of video transcoding capabilities for simplified connection to modern video displays. Composite and S-video sources are converted to 480p and transcoded to HDMI using an internal Faroudja DCDi deinterlacing circuit. Component video sources are also automatically transcoded to HDMI.

For simplified setup, the DTR-6.8 includes Audyssey's acclaimed MultEQ XT room acoustics correction, the most powerful built-in solution available for countering room distortion in dedicated home theaters. This technology uses an included microphone to detect and configure speakers in the room, and then adjusts each channel's level, delay, and crossover settings to best suit the room's acoustics. By incorporating measurements at up to eight points in the listening room, Audyssey MultEQ provides both frequency response and time domain corrections throughout the entire listening area, rather than just at a single position.

The DTC-6.8 includes a high quality AM/FM radio tuner and is also "SAT Ready" with connections for both XM and Sirius satellite radio which can be simultaneously active. It also includes onboard Neural THX processing for multichannel surround programming on XM HD and other Neural THX sources. Finally, there are 40 presets for AM, FM, XM, or Sirius stations.

Designed to offer maximum flexibility and integration options for multi-room audio distribution and control, the DTR-6.8 is capable of processing two audio sources simultaneously for both the main and second zones. It features a selectable fixed/variable line level Zone 2 output to feed a dedicated zone receiver or amplifier. It also includes Integra's Powered Zone 2 feature, which employs two of the receiver's internal amplifier channels to power speakers in a second room while simultaneously providing a full 5.1 channel home theater system in the main room. For the second zone there are independent controls for bass, treble, balance, maximum volume, and power-on volume. There is even a separate Zone 2 subwoofer output for rooms employing subwoofer/satellite speaker systems.

The Integra DTR-6.8 is now available from Integra dealers with a suggested retail price of $1,000.
