| 01/25/02 - Integra has introduced the DPS-7.2 DVD-Audio and DVD Video player with THX Ultra certification. This versatile DVD player has MP3 CD-R playback, plays DVD-R and DVD-RW, has 192-kHz/24-bit DACs, Direct Digital Path, RS-232 control port, dedicated subwoofer output, and a surprisingly affordable price tag of $800. The Integra DPS-7.2 is designed first and foremost for the audiophile, with Direct Digital Path and 192 kHz/24-bit digital-to-analog converters (DAC) for impeccable sound reproduction with DVD-Audio, DVD-Video, and Compact Discs. Direct Digital Path takes the raw digital signal from the laser pickup and routes it straight to the output over a heavy gauge, high-purity shielded cable. Thanks to this and many other refinements, the DPS-7.2 has earned LucasFilm's prestigious THX Ultra certification, which assures consumers it meets the company's most rigid standards for excellence in sound and video playback. The Integra DPS-7.2 has 10-Bit/54MHz video D/A conversion that offers outstanding DVD video performance and picture quality. The player supports 16:9 and 4:3 aspect ratios. It also offers the user exceptional control over the playback with quick-start play, three-speed fast forward and reverse, and four slow motion playback modes from 1/2 to 1/16th normal speed. There are excellent program playback and memory features for DVD and CD playback. These include last play memory & resume for 5 DVDs, condition memory for 15 discs, A-B repeat, title/chapter/track repeat, random playback, and program playback/memory for 24 discs. A front-panel joystick button provides for easy navigation of the player’s menus. There DPS-7.2 has a 6-channel multichannel output, one stereo output, plus two optical and one coaxial digital audio outputs. There are dual parallel component, S-Video, and composite video outputs, and an RS-232 control port for interfacing with AMX, Panja, Crestron, and other home automation systems. The DPS-7.2 can play almost any DVD or CD, including DVD Video, DVD Audio, CD, CD-R, CD-RW, Video CD, DVD-R, and DVD-RW.
