| 09/24/04 - INDIANAPOLIS, IN (09/07/04) – At this year’s CEDIA Expo in Indianapolis, Integra introduced their DTR-5.5, a full-featured home theater receiver designed to provide custom installers and consumers with a detailed and powerful set of control and multizone options at a value-conscious price. It delivers full 7.1-channel processing, 7 x 85 watts of amplification, HD capable component video switching including upconversion of composite and s-video sources, and one of the most flexible suites of multizone options available in a home theater receiver at any price.
As a versatile two source multizone receiver, the DTR-5.5 includes a built-in port for the flexible A-BUS audio distribution system favored by many installers, and also features a fixed/variable Zone 2 output to feed a second zone receiver or amplifier. Bass and treble controls are offered for Zone 2, allowing users to custom tailor the sound in the second room. In addition, with Integra's Powered Zone 2 feature, two of the receiver's internal amplifier channels can be dedicated to powering a second room, eliminating the need for any additional electronics components, while simultaneously providing a full 5.1 channel home theater system.
As a powerful home theater receiver, the DTR-5.5 features 32-bit DSP processing, including Dolby Digital EX and DTS-ES expanded surround formats, even the DTS-96/24 audio format. Sophisticated 192 kHz/24-bit DACs from Wolfson® are applied to all channels and integrate Integra's proprietary Vector Linear Shaping Circuitry (VLSC), generating a smoother and more detailed audio output than conventional D/A circuitry. In addition, the receiver features Dolby ProLogic IIx and DTS Neo:6, which enable the user to derive both 6.1 and 7.1 channels from native stereo and 5.1 sources.
The DTR-5.5's seven internal power amplifier channels deliver a continuous power output of 85 Watts per channel into 8-ohm loads, and 110 Watts into 6 ohms. It boasts a frequency response range of 5 Hz – 100 Hz, thanks to Integra's Wide Range Amplifier Technology (WRAT). The inclusion of a massive High Current Power Supply (HCPS) transformer, combined with high-grade filter capacitors, gives the receiver tremendous current reserves for audio transients and instantaneous power on demand.
The Integra DTR-5.5 includes inputs for five A/V sources and two audio-only sources, including six digital inputs, and one digital output. One A/V input, including optical digital jack and S-Video, is located on the front panel for easy connection of a camcorder or portable mp3 player. There are three assignable component video inputs and one output, with a component video switching bandwidth of 50 MHz to prevent degradation of HDTV and progressive scan DVD signals. Composite and S-video signals are upconverted to component using a 5-line digital comb filter and time-base correction (TBC) to deliver high quality component images to virtually any display.
The DTR-5.5 features three programmable 12-Volt trigger outputs for the main and second zones, IR control input and output jacks, and an RS-232 port to integrate the receiver with whole-home control systems and touchscreens. The high quality AM/FM tuner section has 40 random presets, and features direct access tuning via IR and RS-232 control ports. The included backlit preprogrammed/learning remote control makes system integration and control simple and convenient.
The Integra DTR-5.5 will be available in September at a suggested retail price of $700.
